JOB DESCRIPTION
Title:Facilities Associate
Department: Operations

Reports To:Operations Coordinator

Location:Santa Rosa Novato & San Rafael CA

FLSA Status:Full-Time Non-Exempt from Wage and Hour Laws


SUMMARY
The Facilities Associate is responsible for supporting the maintenance safety and functionality of CCNB facilities. This role under the direction of the Operations Coordinator helps ensure that workspaces equipment and grounds are maintained in a safe organized and operational condition for staff and corpsmembers. The Facilities Associate performs routine inspections conducts repairs and maintenance and coordinates with staff and vendors to address facility needs.
Specific responsibilities include:

Perform routine inspections of CCNB facilities and report safety concerns or repair needs to leadership
Perform general repair and maintenance related to CCNB facilities
Perform minor maintenance services and repairs in areas including plumbing carpentry painting electrical systems HVAC and general cleaning
Maintain landscaping and exterior areas as required
Maintain tools equipment and workspaces in a safe and organized manner
Develop and maintain effective friendly and professional working relationships with staff corpsmembers and vendors
Coordinate with outside service providers when specialized maintenance or repairs are required
Support general facility upkeep to ensure safe and functional work environments
Other duties as assigned

TheFacilities Associateworks outdoors around equipment and machinery walking on uneven ground and steep hillsides with exposure to excessive noise fumes and extremes in temperature. They may be expected to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 lbs and carry objects at least ½ positionfrequently uses special visual and auditory protective equipment. While performing the duties of this position theFacilities Associateis required to walk and stand; sit and bend; squat and climb; kneel and twist; to talk and hear. This position uses hands to operate objects tools or controls; and reaches with hands and arms. This position uses hands to perform simple and power grasping and fine manipulation; to push and pull.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The Facilities Associate position is an hourly full-time non-exempt position which is eligible for a full benefits package (Medical Dental Vision Chiropractic 403(b) retirement plan and generous PTO).Starting pay is $23.00 per hour ($23.00-25.00).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Passion for helping young adults and the environment
Experience in supervising and training youth
Ability to repair small engines
Knowledge of the use and safety of hand and power tools
Ability to speak conversational English
Spanish proficiency highly preferred
Highly organized and independent
Possess a strong service ethic and be able to instill this ethic into team members
Ability to do strenuous work in adverse weather conditions
Desire to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and mediate disputes in a constructive manner
Standard First Aid and CPR certification current or acquire in first 3 months
Clean DMV record with ability topass CCNBs driving exam
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the necessary knowledge and abilities would be:

GED certificate or high school diploma is degree or vocational training in natural resource management mechanics construction or related field is preferred
Experience serving and volunteering in the community is preferred
Conversational Spanish language skills is a plus but not required
Required

OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Valid CA Drivers License
First Aid/CPR certification
Preferred

Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) Landscape Maintenance Category
Experience with safe herbicide application and pesticide label compliance
