Your Role: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for helping persons served improve their functional abilities independence and quality of life through individualized occupational therapy interventions tailored to their physical cognitive emotional sensory and daily living needs. We are looking for a part-time Occupational Therapist (2030 hours/week) to work with our persons served across the Metro Detroit area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs occupational therapy assessments diagnostic tests skilled treatments and ongoing evaluation of clients who are receiving services
• Completes assessments in a timely manner adhering to company policy.
• Develops a treatment program and establishes goals for improved function.
• Provides assessment findings and goals to assist in developing the client care plan and obtains specific physician orders as needed.
• Documents all findings plans interventions and client progress.
• Guides and instructs the client in prescribing therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and cognitive functioning.
• Advises consults and teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to clients family members and other staff.
• Designs and/or orders appropriate adaptive/assistive devices and/or splints to promote optimal level of functioning.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Requirements

• Valid State of Michigans Drivers License
• Current Auto Insurance
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Current Occupational Therapy registration or license as required in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of two 2 years experience in Health Care
