Key Responsibilities

health care professionals to perform ophthalmic clinical and investigative procedures in consultation room / treatment room / operating room of day surgery centre;

general and ophthalmic investigations such as blood pressure taking blood sugar test instillation of eye drops measurement of intra-ocular pressure computer assisted tomography and photography ophthalmic imaging visual acuity test autorefraction specular microscopy and visual field test etc;

3. Perform daily disinfection care and maintenance of medical equipment and ensure ophthalmic instruments equipment and physical work environment are in good condition;

daily operation and perform direct or indirect patient care related duties under guidelines and / or supervision such as operation listing coordination work of patient flow patient education health promotion activities handling of patient / public enquiries support to clinical audit / research etc;

in inventory keeping of medical consumables and equipment;

any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Entry Requirements:

F.5/ S.5 or equivalent with

(i) 5 subjects passed in HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language or equivalent; OR

(ii)5 subjects in HKDSE attaining the level specified below:

- Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language; AND

- Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / Attained in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects under this category) / Grade E in Other Language subjects;or equivalent;

Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Eye Care Assistant) Training Program organized by Hospital Authority (HA) (see Remarks);

command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferable Attributes:

1. Holder of Health Care Assistant or Care-related Support Worker (CRSW) certificate;

2. Possess relevant working experience in health care setting;

3. Proficiency in common computer software including MS office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing;

4. Good interpersonal and communication/presentation skills;

5. Self-motivated willing to learn and able to work independently.

Applicants who do not meet entry requirement (2) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on-the-job training including the Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Eye Care Assistant) Training Program organized by HA. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
