We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools competency and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Salary:18.00 per hour

About the Role:
The HGV Driver Assessor is responsible for evaluating the competence safety and compliance of Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. This role ensures that all drivers meet legal company and industry standards through structured assessments coaching and ongoing development support.
- Conduct practical driving assessments for new and existing HGV drivers.
- Evaluate driver performance against company policies road safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Deliver inductions refresher training and remedial coaching where required.
- Monitor driver compliance with tachograph rules Working Time Directive and vehicle safety checks.
- Provide clear constructive feedback and maintain detailed assessment records.
- Identify training needs and support the development of individual driver improvement plans.
- Ensure all assessments are completed in line with legal and company audit requirements.
- Stay up to date with changes in transport legislation and ensure drivers are informed.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the transport operation.
- Assist in incident investigations involving driver performance when necessary.
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks duties or projects as requested by management.
