The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager Clinical Engineering and working with the designated Team Leads the Student Biomedical Technologist performs in a monitored learning environment the following tasks: equipment management documentation and problem resolution services on behalf of the department to all areas of the Health Centre.

Hours of Work

37.5 hours Weekly (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. -4 p.m.)

Your Qualifications

Student of an Engineering Technology program (Accredited program preferred in fields of Electrical/Electronic/Biomedical) or related post-secondary program which is recognized by CCTT standards required
Registered as a student member with TechNova (or recognized certification body in student home Province) is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting skills as related to electronic and mechanical medical equipment
Medical Technology & Applications
General Electronics Design/Troubleshooting
Use of hand tools
Use of Specialized Test Equipment
Excellent communication skills
Good vision and manual dexterity
Good computer skills (database spreadsheets word processing data entry network configuration and troubleshooting software installation driver installation and testing server management hardware upgrades etc.)
Ability to acquire and apply highly technical information on a continuing basis
Customer Service Skills
Safe working skills
Valid Nova Scotia Drivers License
Network/Information Technology knowledge and experience an asset
