Job Summary

Responsibilities

Team Lead Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead a small team of three Cyber Systems Administrators providing technical and administrative direction ensures high-quality performance and mentors team members.
  • Provide supervisory guidance to team members in accordance with customer and leadership objectives.
  • Allocate and manage team resources.
  • Manage Cyber Engineers day-to-day schedule delegate tasks and communication of goals.
  • Manage project/product progress and ensure metrics are met and reported; ensure timely completion of tasks and quality of products and deliverables.
  • Facilitate training and provide coaching to team members to identify and address technical and analytic skill set gaps.
  • Identify training requirements and develop internal/external training plans in accordance with customer priorities individual/personal development or emerging trends.
  • Represent the team and advocate for the teams needs and additional resources.
  • Assigning workprovidingtechnical guidance and reviewing deliverables

Additional ResponsibilitiesInclude:

  • Design deploy and managefirewallinfrastructure.
  • Develop and enforcefirewallpolicies and rules.
  • Perform regular security audits and assessments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolvefirewalland network security issues.
  • Stayup to datewith the latest cybersecurity trends andfirewalltechnologies.
  • Create andmaintaindocumentation forfirewallconfigurations and procedures.
  • Administer andmaintainenterprise network perimeter defense systems including next-generation firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
  • Manage and tunefirewallAccess Control Lists (ACLs) and security policies.
  • Manages the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure within an organization including the physical network (e.g. LANs/WANs servers terminals) as well as server applications and software (e.g. PeopleSoft Oracle).
  • Configures installsmaintains and upgrades server applications and hardware.
  • Evaluates tests recommends coordinates monitors andmaintainsinformation systems (IS) and cyber security policies procedures and systems including access management for hardware firmware and software.
  • Ensures that IS and cyber security plans controls processes standards policies and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS and cyber security.
  • Identifiessecurity risks and exposuresdeterminesthe causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security.
  • Develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cyber security risk assessments and compliance audits the evaluation and testing of hardware firmware and software forpossible impacton system security and the investigation and resolution of security incidents such as intrusion frauds attacks or leaks.
  • Employees have knowledge of cyber security principles operations security cyber threats and vulnerabilities and knowledge of national regulations policies and ethics as they relate to cyber security.
  • Develop review and applyspecific cyber operations guidance for integration into broader planning activities.
  • Collaborate with DOE leadership toleverageanalytical and technicalexpertiseto ensure mission goals are met.
  • Assistin developingnew approachesto improve organizational framework through the coordination and integration of staff processes.

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 12 years with High School Diploma.

Technical Expertise:

  • Understanding of firewalls routing switching and other telecommunications systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing tasks and interfacing regularly with senior government officials.
  • Experience in information operations planning mission analysis course of action development and concept of operation production.
  • Experience with effective policy instruction and development for Federal or DoD Information Security Programs
  • Experience with risk analysis and assessment determinations incorporating system/mission owner and unique operational constraints
  • Possess a working knowledge of administrating servers system and application security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Experience extending existing applications in areas such as security monitoring task automation continuous integration deployment and performance optimization

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Must be able to obtain andmaintaina Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$104000 - $166000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
