Job Description
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. seeks a motivated Distribution Technician to join our team. We are dedicated to enabling customers to improve the worlds health cleanliness and safety. Together we work towards research acceleration solving scientific challenges driving innovation and supporting patients.
In this role you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of responsibility
- Demonstrate the company mission and values
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Pick pack and ship distribution orders that require a basic skill level
- Screen shipments for unauthorized devices in accordance with TSA requirements
- Complete distribution & warehouse system transactions
- Process all orders according to priority set by Distribution Leader/Supervisor to meet receipt date
- Verify accurate storage conditions and temperature monitoring of shipments
- Load couriers trucks using pallet jacks
- Discover opportunities to improve overall quality and efficiency
- Engage in Daily management and 5S every day
- Ensure that inventory is accurately and safely stored
- Maintain warehouse for safety security neatness and organization
To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license
- Must pass TSA background check
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 40lbs and a maximum of 75lbs and use pallet jacks
- Willing to spend extended periods walking/standing entering data for orders and handling inventory items
- Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and significant data entry
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work in a refrigerated environment with appropriate PPE
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Required: No experience is required
Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution warehouse or supply chain or related field Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers/forklifts)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift experience
- Prior Distribution/Warehouse experience
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices
- Prior pharmaceutical or clinical logistics experience
