We are looking for a dynamic organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Manager in Houston TX.

PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts integrated logistics and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

Job Summary:

  • As the Logistics Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the operational execution of Machines and Work Tools through our North America Equipment Processing Centers-ensuring high quality and velocity standards are met.

Additional Info:

  • Location: Houston TX (United States)
    • This position will be based out of our vendor facility in Houston TX and not at a specific Caterpillar manufacturing or logistics location.
  • Work Hours: Monday Friday (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM)
  • Required Travel: Up to 15% (Domestic)

What You Will Do:

  • Operations Management
  • Analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production distribution and inventory specific to area of responsibility.
  • Improving logistics processes through process improvement prioritization RCCAs and project planning.
  • Ensuring day-to-day 3PL physical and transactional operational execution
  • Executing Production Schedule between Caterpillar and 3PL
  • Tracking of Caterpillar KPI performance and completes RCCAs when KPIs not achieved
  • Managing 3PL operational performance and acts as single point of contact
  • Conducting audits to verify adherence to the process.
  • Supporting Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) and Cycle Counting
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Supports the development and execution of quality assurance strategies processes guidelines and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
  • Implement Quality Control and Assurance with Caterpillar 3PL based on Caterpillar Product Group provided standard work and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) checklists.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organizations performance management system practices and tools to developing and improving individual team and organizational performance.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge experience and skills into real practice.
  • Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers distribution centers manufacturing facilities and customers.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Technical understanding of the manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Three (3) plus years of progressively responsible Quality Manufacturing Engineering Production or Operations experience.
  • SAP Mach1 Experience
  • Power BI Experience
  • Salesforce Experience
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods tools and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

$97530.00 - $146290.00
