The Supply Chain Technology team within OpenAIs Enterprise Platform & Technology builds and scales the systems and data architecture that power our core supply chain operations. We enable operational agility visibility and execution across planning through fulfillment and partner operations. Our focus is on modernizing workflows through strategic integrations scalable automation and seamless data flows empowering better decisions reliable operations and sustainable growth as OpenAI evolves.

About the Role

Were looking for a Business Platform Engineer within our Supply Chain Technology pod to help build the next generation of supply chain this role youll design and develop backend services APIs integrations data pipelines and distributed applications that support critical supply chain workflows and partner connectivity. Youll work on systems that need to be scalable secure and resilient while partnering closely with product managers business stakeholders and engineers across the stack.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex systems problems working across application and data boundaries and applying strong engineering fundamentals to business-critical platforms. You should be comfortable moving between architecture hands-on development technical problem-solving and operational ownership.

Youll be responsible for:

• Designing building and optimizing scalable distributed systems using cloud-native technologies and modern service-oriented architectures.

• Developing backend applications integrations APIs and data services that support core supply chain operations and workflows.

• Owning technical delivery across the software lifecycle from design and implementation through testing deployment and production support.

• Improving system reliability performance observability and security across business-critical platforms.

• Partnering closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver robust solutions with a high degree of ownership.

You might thrive in this role if you

• Have 5 years of professional engineering experience excluding internships in relevant roles at technology or product-driven companies.

• Are proficient in one or more backend languages such as Python Go Rust or TypeScript and have a strong foundation in distributed systems concepts.

• Care deeply about reliability safety and performance in production environments.

• Have a track record of thriving in fast-growing product-driven environments by navigating ambiguity and balancing competing priorities.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures asynchronous processing and systems integration patterns.

• Have experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Exposure to modern data platforms workflow orchestration AI-enabled enterprise tooling is a plus.
