KBR seeks a Database Engineer/ Developer to support the CAPE Joint Data Support (JDS) Division. CAPE JDS is a multi-source funded and OSD CAPE managed organization responsible for identifying collecting developing analyzing managing and disseminating historical current and future years U.S. and Non-U.S. forces inventory capabilities and deployment data (including planning programming and acquisition data) supporting collaborative study teams guided by the Analysis Working Group (AWG). JDS develops standardized data products and analytic tools to support Joint analytic efforts focused on Senior Leader decision support. Additionally JDS supports AWG led SCI/SAP/SAR studies and analyses.

The Database Engineer/ Developer will be responsible for performing tasks relating to integrating database Management System (DBMS) applications including definition design structure documentation upgrades long-range requirements operational guidelines and protection for knowledge management applications and uses. Duties may include entering and reviewing data within the database ensuring user data integrity maintaining database support tools database tables and dictionaries recovery and back-up procedures and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines. Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve functional objectives. Communicates with team members across multiple areas and client team members. Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design process and/or approaches.

Required:

• Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered for the position

• Bachelors degree in data science computer science statistics mathematics or a related field

• Eight (8) years of experience designing executing and delivering agile data/database management leveraging at least one (1) of the following areas:

• Data/Database Engineering: Expertise with database/memory/file systems optimization and architecture Application Program Interfaces (APIs) analytics as a service optimization of data flows and data plumbing. Additionally must have documented experience creating manipulating and maintaining large datasets

• Statistics: Expertise with statistical modeling experimental design sampling clustering data reduction confidence intervals testing modeling and predictive modeling

• Mathematics: Expertise with big data and performing inventory management forecasting optimization and supply chain analysis

• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Expertise utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for developing and running algorithms and dealing with computational complexity.

• The candidate must also possess adeptness in interfacing with clients and demonstrated expertise in Structured Query Language (SQL).

Basic Compensation:

$150000 -$170000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus relocation benefits short term incentives long term incentives or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
