We are seeking an experienced Law Clerk to join our Financial Services Department in our Calgary office working alongside our leading legal professionals to support financial services transactions.

Major Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with legal professionals at the Firm on various financial services transactions
• Conduct Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) searches and registrations across Canada
• Provide transactional support to legal professionals at the Firm including managing closing agendas and deliverables drafting corporate consents resolutions and certificates assisting with the execution and closing of financing transactions and preparing closing records
• Organize and maintain client files and records using the Firms document management system

• Serve as a key point of contact liaising with internal legal counsel business units clients external lenders and regulatory authorities

• Manage competing requests and meet deadlines while protecting confidential and sensitive data in compliance with Firm security protocols
• Assist with the implementation maintenance and improvement of new technologies for financial services transactions as appropriate
• Contribute to the continued design and improvement of our enhanced service delivery model for clients
• Undertake projects and other responsibilities on an as-needed basis

Position Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience as a law clerk with specific experience in banking in-house financial services or corporate law.

Education: A Law Clerk Diploma or Certificate from an accredited institution.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in corporate law procedures PPSA and relevant financial legislation.
