The next principal will lead improvement efforts in areas including chronic absenteeism student engagement academic proficiency and graduation outcomes while strengthening school culture and restoring community role requires a proven instructional leader with experience in turnaround environments strong collaboration skills with staff families and unions and the ability to implement data-driven systems that improve teaching learning and attendance successful candidate will bring urgency transparency and a belief that all students can meet high expectations with the right support in :Facilitate/coordinate the ongoing restructuring of the Rogers High School environment and school reform efforts to create and expand diverse learning opportunities for all students as well as equity access and mutual respect for all studentsWorking with the teachers and staff maintain high standards of adult and student behavior to its highest levels in accordance with the School Committee policies and established procedures while establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community colleagues students and a leader responsible for the safety and supervision of students as well as the school plant to ensure a safe work the teaching and learning in work in conjunction with the Director of Teaching & Learning and Assistant Principal to align instructional programs at Rogers High School Newport Area Career and Technical Center in alignment with the strategic plan objectives and goals; work with School Improvement team to analyze and interpret school data to inform next steps and decisions; Lead the implementation and responsible for strategic objectives and goals for student learning; serve on districts Curriculum Steering Committee and cultivate a culture and climate of respect and high performance for students staff and current with changes and developments in education including but not limited to literacy teaching-learning styles programming for at-risk and special needs students emerging technologies school-based improvement restructuring and reform efforts. Facilitate meetings with the Department Chairs to address schoolwide initiatives and to support academic rigor and achievement one student at a time; with a curriculum and structure with the goal of improving student with other leadership in the building a presence outside the school day attend and supervise all school-sponsored activities functions and events.- and create a sense of community and or supervise the preparation of all reports records etc.; prepare budget requests and initiate and monitor expenditures in accordance with established policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with the adherence to all federal and state laws School Committee policies and administrative and promote at all times a place of learning that is safe challenging and inspiring for students staff and of and experience with ELL/MLL instructional practices especially with students who arrive at RHS with limited educational experiences in their countries of and experience in successful disciplinary oversight of students with varying social-emotional challenges as well as attendance and tardiness issues that negatively impact student all other duties as assigned by the superintendent of schools or TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:Hold a Rhode Island Department of Education Certification Building Administration K-12.A Masters Degree or its equivalent as determined by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE).At least seven (7) years of successful experience as a secondary school teacher and/or knowledge of and an ability to use computer technology as it relates to job responsibilities including all RIDE systems such as EPSS electronic messaging and social media or willing to be ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work educational experience school-level involvement and/or system wide professional activities and the interview OF EMPLOYMENT:Twelve month position.
