General Function:
- Coordinates with Assembly Sales and Customers Freight Forwarders for shipments of machines and kits to ensure timely transportation. Ensures timely and accurate Weights and Dimensions are provided to customers.
- As a working manager schedules and directs the daily activities of all personnel linked to inbound / outbound Shipping and Logistics activities.
- In collaboration with the Trade Compliance Analyst assures accuracy of domestic and/or international import / export documentation.
- Coordinates with the Global Supply Chain team for inbound and intercompany transportation requirements.
- Ensures schedules for shipments are maintained to meet OTD and shipment accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining and enforcing department processes and procedures and updating as necessary to promote continuous improvement of the department.
- Develop and lead end-to-end logistics solutions to achieve required on-time pick up and delivery of goods.
- Manage Packaging Supplies and Crating Costs to meet budgets and ensure packaging and preservation techniques are defined and followed for both incoming and outgoing logistics.
- Maintain KPIs / Metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Responsible for providing management with performance to due date reports and any associated non-compliance issues.
- Responsible for proper documentation and transactions of shipments both domestic and international to assure compliance.
- Provides Root Cause / Corrective Actions as needed for continuous improvement & adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley program policies.
- Import & Export knowledge of Harmonized Tariff and Commodity Codes USMCA and other transportation regulations.
- Transportation Freight and traffic management with application of all relevant commercial carrier requirements to assure timely delivery.
- Develop sustainable packaging initiatives to continually reduce waste streams.
- Accountable for providing and fostering a safe work environment with zero accidents.
- Coordinate freight claims and ensures timely resolution.
Education: B.S. Degree in Materials Management Business Administration or Operations Management.
Experience:
- 5 - 10 years in Logistics & Warehouse supervisory role or related experience in a leadership role within a warehouse environment.
- In depth knowledge of Lean Sigma Tools (5S Waste Elimination Pull Production Visual Management Standard Work DMAIC etc.). Experience leading Kaizen Events or Continuous Improvement Teams to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Proven ability to implement continuous improvement achieve KPIs and foster positive change management
- Must possess strong computer skills excel word and business operating systems. Good communications skills and demonstrated leadership ability required.
Physical Requirements
