Tier 2 Electronics Assembler (Internal)

Activate is a tech company known for creating Canadas first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of Tier 2 Electronic Assemblers.A successful applicant will be capable of working independently across multiple production areas performing advanced assembly testing and machine operation tasks across SMT soldering and 3D printing functions depending on assignment. This is a permanent full-time position.

The Duties and Responsibilities:

Tier 2 Electronic Assemblers are responsible for executing production tasks maintaining established quality standards and supporting continuous process flow across SMT soldering and 3D printing operations. These include:

Electronics Assembly

• Performs various types of soldering including surface mount thru-hole and hand-soldering

• Sets up equipment and solders components together with minimal supervision

• Completes assemblies to specification including finishing and quality checks
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

Testing and Assembly

• Gathers components needed to meet production schedules

• Tests finished boards to check functionality

• Follows and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Preventative Maintenance & Repair

• Documents production totals and any errors
• Perform basic PCB repairs and rework
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
• Support routine equipment maintenance

The Qualifications:

• Electronics Technologist diploma or equivalent experience preferred;
  
• Minimum 1-year experience with electronics soldering and hardware assembly
• Minimum 6 months experience as a Tier 1 Electronics Assembler
• Consistent performance in Tier 1 role meeting expectations in quality safety attendance and productivity
  
• Proficient in all assembly station
• Proven ability to meet production targets with minimal rework
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and work instructions
• Proficient in thru-hole soldering; able to test boards diagnose issues and perform basic PCB repair and troubleshooting
• Able to independently operate SMT production lines including testing boards and making necessary adjustments
• Capable of operating a 3D printer fleet including performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs
• Strong experience with SMT equipment soldering tools and related production equipment
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to resolve routine assembly issues independently
  
• Strong communication and ability to support Tier 1 Electronic Assemblers when required
• Access to reliable transportation is required
