Job Summary
In this role the Controls & Automation Engineer leads automation initiatives supports plant-wide control systems and serves as a technical authority for troubleshooting upgrades and continuous improvement. The position collaborates closely with Maintenance Operations EHS contractors OEMs and corporate engineering teams to align plant engineering efforts with overall business objectives.
This role directly contributes to improving productivity increasing equipment availability reducing maintenance costs and strengthening overall asset reliability through disciplined engineering practices and effective project execution.
Qualified candidates must have bachelors degree in electrical /Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering and prior experience in Plant engineering department Greenfield /Brownfield Project management in a forging/Metal forming industry setup have good technical and problem-solving skills and preferably have hands on practical experience being able to demonstrate a level of success in heavy manufacturing environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in electrical / Electronics / Automation engineering.
- Must have strong background in Electrical Automation PLC and Control Hydraulic & Pneumatics System Design Electrical and Control systems upkeep and troubleshooting High Voltage Electrical maintenance Electrical Safety and overall machine troubleshooting.
- Prior Automation Controls Engineering Experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley Siemens & Fanuc systems
- Good Computer Knowledge of MS Office Suit MS Projects ACAD & Solid works.
- Experience in Forging Facility maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of CMMS-EMaintX4 is desirable.
- Knowledge of Furnace combustion control and experience with Eurothem Review/Bridge/TUS/ Knowledge of /Pyrometry/System Accuracy Tests & Temperature Uniformity Surveys is a plus.
- PE PMP and other Certifications in relevant field is desirable
Skills and Abilities
Must be Self-Motivated & Team Player with ability to deliver under minimum supervision.
- Understanding of Industrial Safety and governing laws/standards e.g. OHSA ASME NFPA
- Ability to comprehend Mechanical equipment drawings Hydraulic Pneumatic and simple Electrical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to apply technical knowhow and resources for prompt resolution of Plant issues.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Good Communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and plan on proactive basis.
