Job Summary:

The Procedural Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a procedural setting at a proficient level in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice with the policies values and mission of the organization. Monitors and manages the patient in the procedural environment before during and after procedures to maintain a safe environment optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs circulating functions before procedures including preparing the procedural environment orienting and assessing the patient and reviewing the patients medical record and the surgeons notes to ensure all prerequisites and preferences are met.

• Ensures safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.

• Performs circulating functions during procedures including monitoring and communicating patient condition documenting interventions and activities monitoring the sterile field and controlling traffic into out of and around the room.

• Performs scrub functions as needed including the preparation selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure and performs equipment counts with colleagues.

• Provides nursing care to a complex moderate acuity procedural patient population in a technically complex environment.

• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies (CDPHE CMS OSHA etc.).

• Ensures compliance with all infection control standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).

• One to two (1-2) years of nursing experience.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vascular Nurse experience.

• Four or more (4) years of registered nursing experience in a procedural/OR setting.

• Bilingual Spanish-speaking.

• Moderate sedation experience.

• Nursing certification (ANCC) in specialty area.

• Kronos/EPIC experience.

Conditions of Employment:

• Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.

• Complies with applicable University of Colorado School of Medicine Community Practice mandatory education and training.

• Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the position.

• Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally at all levels including physicians leadership and staff.

• Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedure coding.

• Strong knowledge of value-based care and risk-based coding procedures.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $83794 to $100552.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
