Job Summary

Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Engineer will be based in GDL North reporting to Equipment Maintenance Leader

Mechanical: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems and production machines and equipment.

Electrical: Maintains and troubleshoots in-circuit and functional testers associated test fixtures stress chambers and chamber racks to ensure manufacturing test equipment is on-line.

Responsibilities:

• Through troubleshooting identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanism.
• Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.
• Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
• Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.
• Assists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.
• Researches and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.
• Records times and problems in equipment logs.
• Provides daily equipment functioning activity information.
• Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
• Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
• Aligns repairs replaces and balances component parts and circuitry.
• Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
• Assists engineers in formulating test calibration repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring recording and indicating instruments and equipment.
• May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors locations.
• Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.

Specialized Job:

• Allocating work to a team of fitters.
• Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate.
• Fitting new parts.
• Carrying out quality inspections.
• Acknowledging immediately to equipment breakdowns.
• Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed.
• Keeping production managers informed of progress.
• Organizing teams or unipersonal to make sure that 24-hour cover is available.
• Working on mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic or computerized systems.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires an associate degree in a related field or equivalent education and training.
• Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
• Intermediate English.
• Experience in corrective and preventive maintenance of SMT equipment.
• Backend experience.
