About the Role
We are on the lookout for a skilled Kaiarotake / Assessor to join our growing successful team.
Te Puawaitanga Ki Ōtautahi Trust is a kaupapa Māori provider delivering a range of health education and social services that promote the wellbeing and mana of Māori whānau. Our mahi is grounded in whānau ora strengthsbased practice and kaupapa Māori values.
We are seeking a Kaiarotake / Assessor to join our Tamaiti Healthy Homes team and support whānau to live in warmer drier healthier homes.
This role delivers services across the wider Waitaha area and is based in Papanui. You will work alongside the Service Lead Senior Kaiarotake and Kaiarotake / Assessors to undertake comprehensive housing assessments as part of the Healthy Homes Initiative.
Key components of the role include:
- Implementing whanaungatanga to build trusting relationships with whānau
- Undertaking comprehensive housing assessments with whānau
- Delivering education about home performance and the affects of housing on health
- Ensure accurate tracking for reporting purposes
- Engage in guidance and reflection with the Service Lead and Senior Kaiarotake as needed
What youll bring
- Experience working with Māori and Pacific whānau inkaupapaMāori and/or whānaucentred contexts.
- Experience in whānaufacing roles involving engagement education and assessment.
- Understanding ofTeAo Māori and commitment toTeTiritio Waitangi.
- Strong communicationand relationshipbuilding skills.
- Confidence using digital systems.
- Alignment with thekaupapaand values ofTePuawaitangakiŌtautahiTrust.
- Full and unrestricted drivers licence.
- Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
