WUSF public media is a leading source of news information and cultural enrichment for West Central Florida. We reach over one million people monthly through our NPR news station WUSF 89.7 Classical WSMR 89.1 & 103.9 and an extensive digital presence including live streaming podcasts newsletters and social media. As a department of the University of South Florida we have a dedicated team of 80 professionals and an annual budget of $10 million. We are deeply committed to building community through trusted journalism classical music and culture that reflects the world around us. Our professional staff works closely with talented student interns. Our main studios are on the USF Tampa campus with additional broadcast and production facilities on the USFSM and USFSP campuses.
Position Summary
As an Account Executive you are responsible for cultivating and soliciting corporate and non-profit financial support (underwriting) for all WUSF Public Media platforms and events including analog and digital broadcast online and digital and achieving annual revenue goals.

Responsibilities
Cultivate and solicit media sales from commercial enterprises businesses and non-profit organizations (underwriting) and achieving annual revenue goals. Manage the sales and sales relationship process by developing and maintaining corporate sales by prospecting generatingqualifiedleadscultivatingtheclientsrelationshipwithWUSFPublicMediaand presenting sales proposals which result in a signed agreement. Media sales products include but are not limited to WUSF 89.7 NPR Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9 HD broadcast channels event sponsorship and various digital products including websites newsletters streaming pre-roll and podcasts.
Liaisonwithinternaldepartments(ProgrammingProductionTrafficBusinessOffice)to ensure proper execution at every level of the media sales agreement.
Providestewardshipforsponsorsthroughstrongcustomerserviceandclientrelationships including resolution of past due accounts billing discrepancies and scheduling discrepancies.
Attendexternalfunctionsandothercommunity-basedeventsforleadgenerationsuchas Chamber of Commerce meetings and station-sponsored events. Attend sales and staff meetings and other station events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MinimumQualifications:
Thispositionrequiresabachelors degree in business administration or communications and three years of experience related to professional sales or media years of experience related to professional sales/media sales or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the bachelors degree.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
