Software Engineer (Python, React, AI)

Job Purpose and Impact

• Cargills Global Impact DT&D team is seeking aSoftware Engineer Full Stack (GenAI)to support the development ofinnovative AI-powered digital solutionsthat drive sustainability and Global Communicationinitiative.

  This role will contribute to buildingend-to-end applicationsleveragingGenerative AI technologies includingLLMs Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and intelligent documentprocessing systems. The ideal candidate is ahands-on engineerwith strong expertise inPython (backend)andReact (frontend) and a passion for applying emerging AI technologies to solve real-world challenges.

Key Accountabilities

• Design develop and maintainfull-stack applicationsusingPython (FastAPI)andReact
• Contribute to the development and integration ofGenerative AI solutions includingLLMs RAG pipelines and embedding-based retrieval systems
• Build and integrateRESTful APIs and backend servicesto support scalable applications
• Develop and optimizedata pipelines for structured and unstructured data processing
• Integrate AI/ML services (e.g. OpenAI Azure OpenAI) into enterprise applications
• Ensurecode quality performance and scalabilitythrough best engineering practices
• Collaborate withcross-functional teams(Product Data Sustainability Business stakeholders)
• Participate incode reviews testing debugging and performance optimization
• UtilizeGit-based workflowsand contribute to CI/CD processes
• Stay updated with emerging trends inAI cloud and full-stack development

Qualifications

• Required Skills & Competencies
  • Demonstrated proficiency inPython-based backend development
  • Strongexperience infrontend development using React
  • Proven experience working withGenerative AI technologies includingLLMs and RAG frameworks
  • Hands-on experience withLangChain (or similar frameworks)andvector databases
  • Proficiency inGit version control and collaborative workflows
  • Experience withdatabases (PostgreSQL / NoSQL)
  • Familiarity withcloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
  • 36 years of experiencein software engineering
  • Experience working onend-to-end application developmentin enterprise or product environments
