Overview

As an Associate Platform Engineer you will support the design implementation and operation of the Big Data and cloud platform services (Kafka Cassandra Spark) that power SAPs enterprisescale solutions. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build reliable scalable and secure platform capabilities used across SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).

This role is ideal for earlycareer engineers who are eager to learn modern cloud technologies distributed systems Kubernetes and automation practices. Curiosity a willingness to learn and a collaborative mindset are highly valued.

What you will build

As an Associate Platform Engineer you will contribute to platform development and operations with guidance and mentorship. Your responsibilities include:

• Build and automate provisioning configuration and lifecycle management for Big Data platform components
• Implement cloudagnostic platform features across hyperscalers (AmazonWeb Services Google Cloud Microsoft Azure Alibaba Cloud and SAP Cloud infrastructure)
• Support enhancements to Kubernetesbased runtimes including optimization and basic automation
• Contribute to platform reliability by learning and applying foundational site reliability engineering practices (SRE) concepts (monitoring alerting incident handling)
• Participate in team oncall duties outside working hours after sufficient onboarding and training

What you bring

• Educational background in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience (internships personal projects opensource work)
• 02 years of professional experience in software cloud engineering DevOps or related areas
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts
• Prior internships or handson projects involving cloud services automation or distributed systems are a plus
• Introductory knowledge of containers (Docker) Linux or distributed systems
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python or Go
• Interest in learning Kubernetes cloud platforms (AmazonWeb Services Azure GCP) and automation tooling
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative attitude willingness to ask questions and openness to feedback
• Clear communication skills in English both written and verbal
