Schedule: June 2026 through August 2026 Monday through Friday 40 hours per week
Location: Boring Oregon
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an enthusiastic detail-oriented intern to join our Food Manufacturing team for the this role you will play a critical part in building and improving our operational knowledge base creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) job aids and training materials used daily on the production floor. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a lasting impact while developing real-world experience in technical writing instructional design and operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop clear accurate and user-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food manufacturing processes
- Design job aids quick-reference guides and visual work instructions for production floor staff
- Create engaging training materials including presentations handouts and e-learning content
- Collaborate with department leads supervisors and frontline employees to gather process information
- Review and revise existing documentation for accuracy clarity and compliance
- Organize and maintain the documentation library ensuring version control and easy accessibility
- Support onboarding and training sessions by preparing and presenting materials
- Assist in translating materials into Spanish to support our bilingual workforce (preferred)
- Perform other documentation and administrative tasks as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business Communications Technical Writing Human Resources Operations Management or related field preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written communication and technical writing skills
- Outgoing approachable and comfortable working with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing food production or industrial environment
- Familiarity with SOP development instructional design or training material creation
- Experience with document management systems or Learning Management Systems (LMS)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based primarily in an office setting within our food manufacturing facility. Occasional visits to the production floor will be required to observe processes and gather information for documentation. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for floor visits. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
