Senior Data Engineer to ICA Bank

Do you want to build andoperatea modern scalable data platform at the heart of bank and insurance business At ICA Banken & ICAFörsäkring we are expanding our Cloud Data Platform team and are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a pivotalrole in shaping our data ecosystem!

In this role you will work end-to-end with production-grade data pipelines and data products that enable secure reliable and scalable access to data across the organisationdriving business decisions regulatory reporting and advanced analytics including AI/ML use cases.

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer you will be part of the Data department within IT building a modern data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will contribute to a target architecture based on Data Mesh principles where data products are owned by domains and governed by design.

Your main responsibilities include among other things:

• Designing and evolving scalable batch and streaming data pipelines on GCP

• Developing and modelling large-scale analytical datasets in BigQuery with high performance and cost efficiency

• Implementing data contracts transformation layers and CI/CD pipelines using DBT Terraform and GitHub

• Embedding governance security and compliance by design across the data lifecycle

You will be collaborating closely with engineers architects and business stakeholders to turn requirements into robust technical solutions

You will also act as a senior technical contributor sharing knowledge and helping to raise engineering standards across the team.

Are you the one we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience as a Senior Data Engineer preferably in cloud-native and regulated environments. You have:

• Proven experience building production-grade data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery Dataflow Pub/Sub)

• Strong experience with streaming architectures (Kafka or equivalent) and APIs

• Proficiency in Java and Python

• Solid data modelling skills and experience optimizing large-scale analytical workloads

• Hands-on experience with DBT CI/CD and modern engineering practices

Experience with Data Mesh data governance or banking/financial services is considered a plus. English is required; Swedish is an advantage.
