Department: Retail FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports To: Store Manager Job Category:6 (Support)PURPOSEThe Grocery Retail Associate (Store Clerk) supports daily store operations and delivers a positive shopping experience for customers. This position is responsible for cashiering stocking cleaning and assisting customers throughout the store. The ideal candidate is dependable customer-focused and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate a cash register accurately while following all checkout and cash-handling procedures (cash credit/debit EBT WIC gift cards coupons and checks)Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service addressing complaints and feedback report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to rotate and maintain merchandise in grocery frozen dairy meat and produce departmentsAssist with unloading delivery trucks and organizing productMaintain clean safe and organized store conditions including sales floor restrooms backroom displays and parking lotRetrieve shopping carts and maintain entrance areasProvide friendly professional customer serviceEnsure proper product signage pricing and display standardsSupport other departments and complete additional duties as assignedMust Adhere to a uniform dress codeQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred Bilingual in Spanish and EnglishPrior retail or grocery experienceCash handling or POS experienceTailors messaging to meet the needs of diverse customers and team membersTakes initiative and completes work with speed and accuracyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRequires the ability to reach bend balance lift and carry items weighing 2050 pounds on a regular basis. Items weighing more than 50 pounds require a coordinated team walk bend reach squat and twist for extended periodsPush and pull carts and equipmentExposure to cold heat and cleaning chemicalsSCOPEThe Associate is responsible for performing assigned duties that support daily operations customer service and company standards.
