Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA)
JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist the principal in ensuring the well-being and academic success of students through collaboration with families school staff and outside agencies. The TOSA position is assigned to schools based on student enrollment and grade level band.
QUALIFICATIONS: Administrative certificate preferred evidence of participation in a leadership program required. Bilingual preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and assist with monitoring the educational and behavioral performance of all students to ensure academic success.
- Assist with the documentation process required by federal law to maintain time and effort logs.
- Assist in the development of intervention plans to help students become successful in school including PBIS MTSS and student discipline.
- Coordinate services with the district resources and outside agencies to provide an environment that supports the factors that increase student achievement (i.e. safety attendance homeless medical and dental programs).
- Communicate student progress to parents and provide significantly extended learning activities for the home environment.
- Plan and implement outreach programs to enhance student academic performance and create parental involvement and support.
- Coordinate extended learning opportunities for students and families (i.e. extended library and computer lab hours and field trips).
- Develop activities that include non-parent community members as valued members of the school and community partnership.
- Assist with responsibilities and documentation processes which ensure the growth and development of all staff members to achieve desired student academic outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Recent resume should reflect experience related to the job description responsibilities listed above.
SALARY / COMPENSATION: Nine-month position teacher salary schedule 20 additional days (at daily rate) $750 travel stipend $5000 additional duties stipend and employee benefits in accordance with Board policies. Performance Pay eligible.
EVALUATION:Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of administrative personnel.
