Job Summary
White Rock Medical Center (WRMC) is an independent 218-bed community hospital in East Dallas serving the neighborhoods around White Rock Lake. We offer emergency services surgical care a cardiac catheterization lab critical care and a full range of medical and diagnostic services. As a community-focused hospital we partner with local schools universities and organizations to advance health access and outcomes in our neighborhoods.
Position Summary
The Hospital Administration Intern will shadow hospital operations leaders and work directly with the VP of Operations on projects that span hospital-wide operations process improvement and organizational effectiveness. This is a broad hands-on role ideal for a student considering a career in hospital administration healthcare management or health systems work who wants exposure to how an independent community hospital actually runs. A particular focus this summer is supporting our EMR implementation and initial adoption work which touches nearly every department in the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Shadow hospital operations leaders across clinical and non-clinical departments to learn day-to-day hospital management
Support the EMR implementation and initial adoption effort workflow documentation training rollout end-user feedback tracking and issue resolution follow-through
Assist in operational huddle processes data entry tracking and follow-up on action items across departments
Support HR and recruiting projects including sourcing for open roles onboarding materials and internal communications
Assist in process improvement projects across departments (OR cath lab revenue cycle case management facilities)
Contribute to standard operating procedure documentation and process mapping
Attend leadership meetings take notes and help track action items to completion

Qualifications
Current undergraduate (rising junior or senior) or graduate student in health administration business public health human resources industrial engineering organizational psychology or a related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional communication style this role involves regular interaction with clinical staff leaders and occasionally patients and families
Curiosity about how organizations work and genuine interest in healthcare
Discretion and sound judgment with confidential information (HIPAA training provided)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

Position Details
Duration: 68 weeks summer 2026
Hours: 2040 hours per week (flexible based on student availability)
Compensation: Paid position (hourly; rate commensurate with academic level)
Location: On-site at WRMC 9440 Poppy Drive Dallas TX 75218 (hybrid flexibility for specific project work)
Reports to: VP of Operations
