Responsibilities
Assists pharmacy department with variety of vital functions including maintaining automation performing quality improvement/data collection evaluation/maintenance of clean room/compounding areas ensuring compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards and processing of medication orders and or medication requests from a pharmacist. This position provides organizational and technical support to ensure proper preparation of pharmaceuticals and compliance with established protocol and guidelines for pharmacy operations. This role primarily functions as a Medication Reconciliation Technician in the Emergency Department by obtaining and verifying accurate medication histories identifying discrepancies and collaborating with healthcare providers to promote safe and effective patient care.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by PTCB or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
- Strong written and verbal skills required.
- Three (3) years of hospital experience preferred.
- Sterile compounding USP 797 and USP 800 knowledge preferred
