Pay | HK$24875 HK$29305 per month (See Remarks) Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. |
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform and analyze polysomnographic recordings and related procedures and implement appropriate interventions according to guidelines.
2. Prepare and calibrate equipment required for recordings clean after use.
3. Prepare consumables for recordings and check stocks periodically clean/disinfect after use.
4. Perform regular equipment maintenance check to ensure proper functioning.
5. Take care of patients and ensure patient safety during tests.
6. Comply with guidelines and standards regarding safety infection control issues occupational safety and health issues and privacy.
7. Complete and verify documentation.
8. Assist to train and coach less experienced/junior technical staff and supporting staff and supervise their job performance.
9. Participate in clinical research works and quality assurance activities.
10. Perform clerical duties of the unit.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Entry Requirements:
1. (a) F.5 with passes in 5 subjects in the HKCEE including English Language (Syl B) Chinese Language and Mathematics or equivalent; OR
(b) S.5 with Level 2 / Attained / Grade E in 5 subjects in the HKDSE including English Language Chinese Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
2. Possess at least 3 years relevant work experience (See Remarks).
3. Holder of valid Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certificate or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certificate(See Remarks).
4. Holder of valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate (See Remarks).
5. Completed the structured departmental training and passed the related assessment (See Remarks).
6. Able to speak fluent Cantonese write and read Chinese and English and speak English.
Preferred Attributes:
1. Knowledge and skills in computer operation and PC applications including MS Office.
2. Good and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Able to speak Mandarin.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) (3) (4) & (5) if found suitable will be employed to undergo at least 3 years on-the-job training. The staff will be initially appointed as Patient Care Assistant II at a monthly salary of HK$19764 to undergo at least 6 months structured departmental training and obtain the Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. After completing the structured departmental training passing the assessment and obtaining the BCLS or CPR certificate their monthly salary will be adjusted to HK$21739. The staff will then continue to undergo an addition of at least 2 years structured departmental training and on-the-job training. With satisfactory job performance the staff will be nominated to take the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) examination in the third year. After completing a total training period of at least 3 years passing the end of training assessment on skills and performance and holding a valid RPSGT or RST certificate and a valid BCLS or CPR certificate the staff will be appointed as Patient Care Assistant I at a monthly salary of HK$24875. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
