Real Estate Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal

Job Summary
As part of the AWS legal team you will be responsible for supporting AWSs worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions leases zoning entitlement work and serviced licenses. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. Transactions range from standard contracts to complex bespoke high value agreements. You will structure draft and negotiate agreements and leases help support AWSs existing portfolio manage outside counsel and advise internal business addition you will help develop implement and manage process improvements across the team resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic enjoy working hard and being challenged and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
A day in the life
You will be based in our London office working alongside AWS business teams to enable the companys global infrastructure expansion. Your day includes partnering directly with business clients who rely on your counsel to navigate complex real estate transactions and resolve challenges as they arise.
You will balance multiple prioritiesfrom negotiating high-value agreements to advising on portfolio matters and managing outside counsel relationships. The work is fast-paced and varied requiring sound judgment in ambiguous situations and creative problem-solving on novel issues. You will collaborate in person with colleagues across the legal team and business building relationships that drive strategic outcomes for AWSs continued growth.

- Experience in Real Estate Law
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification legal experience
- Qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases lease amendments purchase and sale agreements easements development agreements co-ownership agreements etc.)
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience with development/entitlement work
