Job Summary
Technical Writer $700$1000 USD/month Fully Remote
Location: Fully remote you can be based anywhere in the world
Hours: Flexible at least 3 hours overlap with IST (09:0018:00 IST)
Salary: $700$1000 USD/month
Contract: Full-time permanent

About the company
Remote World is partnering with an Indian software company to hire for this role. They build developer tools used by engineering teams across Asia and Europe and their documentation hasnt kept up with the product.
The role
Youll own the docs writing clear API references how-to guides and release notes that developers actually want to read. Youll work closely with engineers and PMs to understand features before they ship then translate them into accurate usable documentation.
What youll do
- Write and maintain API docs user guides and changelogs
- Interview engineers and PMs to understand new features
- Maintain a docs style guide and enforce consistency
- Identify documentation gaps from support tickets and user feedback
- Publish updates through the companys docs platform (Notion or GitBook)
What youll need
- Strong technical writing with clean precise prose
- Comfortable reading code (you dont need to write it)
- Experience documenting software products or APIs
- Able to work independently and manage multiple concurrent docs projects
Nice to have
- Experience with developer documentation tools (GitBook ReadMe etc.)
- Background in engineering computer science or technical comms
- Familiarity with REST APIs or SDKs
