Job Description:

National Medical Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Step Down Registered Nurse with a strong background in neurological care. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients transitioning from ICU-level support with a focus on neuro-related conditions such as stroke traumatic brain injuries seizures and post-operative neurosurgical care.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and assess patients in a step down/telemetry setting

Provide specialized care for patients with neurological conditions

Interpret and respond to changes in patient status including neuro assessments

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements:

Active RN license (state-specific or compact)

Minimum 2 years of Step Down or Progressive Care experience

Strong neuro experience required

BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIH Stroke Certification preferred

Excellent critical thinking and communication skills

Requirements Step Down RN (Neuro Experience Required):

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific or compact)

Minimum 2 years of Step Down Progressive Care (PCU) or Telemetry experience

Strong neuro experience required (stroke TBI seizures post-neurosurgical care)

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation

Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
