Our Chemist is responsible for performing physical and chemical testing in support of thesite QA/QC program and assist with strategic plans. This includes: initiating continuousimprovement projects supporting Global Quality Standards and compliance with cGMPregulations and developing collaborative partnerships with Colgate colleagues. He orshe must deliver the agreed to business results while maintaining positive employeerelations.
Principal Responsibilities:Perform chemical testing of raw material in-process and finished product in accordancewith standard procedures. Approve materials and product based on test sensory evaluations on raw materials intermediates and finished vital adjustments to in-process batches when an out of specification result isidentified by calculating accurate additions to the batch using the test results as abaselineCommunicates the required addition to the operations department who performs theadjustments and the resulting sample tested again to determine compliance tospecificationCollects and analyzes test data to identify root cause draw conclusions and support to facility to resolve nonconformance issues and identify corrective andpreventative Transfer- support analytical method transfers from R&D to lab and trainother chemists on the new methodology and the training to employees and operators on new and existing applicable and handle the ordering of lab and office supplies to ensure adequate inventoryfor business in failure investigations to identify and recommend corrective and preventiveactionsAcquires basic knowledge of plant floor operations and equipmentApplies appropriate methodologies and data interpretation techniques to assist inovercoming technical difficulties and promote continuous improvement.

Maintains the laboratory quality assurance systems to assure validity of dataPerforms or assists vendor in the installation qualification (IQ) operational qualification(OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) of laboratory instruments and lab verification of instrumentsMaintains accurate up to date and concise laboratory notebooks and laboratory safety equipment and understands precautions in handling reagentsand disposal of chemical waste according with local environmental basic instrument in depth knowledge of how to operate instruments and other standard laboratoryequipment relevant to job and accurately follows written lab procedures global methods localmethods and published standard or compendia knowledge and practice of how to calibrate and maintain analytical instruments anduse of analytical reference standardsMaintain awareness of regulatory and GMP requirements
Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related least one year experience in an industrial laboratory knowledge of validations cGMP/GLP maintenance & instrumentation calibrationand able to work in a fast pace environment.
