URGENT: We are currently seeking a faculty member to teach English and Scholarly Writing (ENGL 1105). This course supports degree-level learning primarily within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and may also be offered as an elective in other disciplines.
This is a 15-week contract position requiring approximately 3 hours of instruction per week. It is ideal for professionals interested in sharing their expertise in a flexible part-time teaching role.
The course may be delivered in person online or through a hybrid format. The course start date is May 4 2026.
Academic Responsibilities
Deliver course content aligned with undergraduate degree standards including learning outcomes assessments and instructional activities
Foster scholarly inquiry and evidence-based reasoning
Maintain accurate academic records and adhere to institutional grading practices
Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to support student success and uphold academic quality standards
Requirements
Masters degree or PhD in English Studies or a closely related discipline
Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree-level learners is considered a strong asset
Strong understanding of learning outcomes assessment design and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education
Excellent communication organizational and instructional skills
Demonstrated ability to foster critical thinking academic writing and scholarly inquiry in students

Ability to apply the theory practices and principles of adult education. Demonstrated competence with the use of the interview e-mail and MS Office Suite. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
