POSITION TITLE: Planned Giving Coordinator

CLASSIFICATION/Classification VI per Schedule A of the collective agreement
RATE OF PAY:

DEPARTMENT: Advancement & Alumni

The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa the Odawa and the Potawatomie. We respect the longstanding relationships with First Nations people in this place in the 100-mile Windsor-Essex peninsula and the straits les détroits of Detroit.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Planned Giving Officer will be responsible for developing and executing strategies for identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding planned gifts including bequests charitable remainder trusts gifts of insurance and other complex gifts.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have:
University degree or College diploma in a relevant field (e.g. fundraising marketing communications or nonprofit management) or equivalent experience.
2-3 years of experience in fundraising major gifts or gift planning preferably in a university or not-for-profit setting.
Knowledge of planned giving vehicles (bequests life insurance etc.)
Proficiency with donor management software (e.g. Raisers Edge) and the ability to use data to drive fundraising strategies and track donor activity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage high-level donors and corporate representatives.
Ability to manage multiple complex relationships and projects simultaneously.
A willingness to learn and a commitment to developing expertise in this area.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities are essential to effectively support the overall goals and success of the fundraising program.
Understanding the principles of equity diversity inclusion and Decolonization and the ability to work respectively with a diverse student staff faculty alumni and donor populations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant fundraising certificate.
