AI & Automation Specialist

seoplus is an innovative digital marketing agency helping businesses worldwide reach their online potential by generating leads and increasing sales. Our clients range from local retailers to enterprise-level multinationals.

We are currently seeking an AI & Automation Specialist to support our team enhancing the operational efficiency and profitability of the company. This role is for a tech-savvy professional who is skilled in creating maintaining and optimizing automated systems and integrations and who is equally comfortable building internal policy as they are building workflows. The ideal candidate brings a strong programming background hands-on experience with automation and AI tools and the discipline to drive projects to completion with speed and accountability.

We invite candidates located in Ottawa to apply. This is a hybrid role and the candidate is required to work from our Ottawa office three days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

Design & Build

• Design and implement new automation processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across departments with a focus on measurable outcomes and on-time delivery.
• Utilize programming languages such as Python and JavaScript to build and manage automations integrations and AI-powered workflows.
• Lead the deployment and adoption of Generative AI platforms (such as Gemini Claude ChatGPT) and agentic AI tools (such as N8N) across the organization including prompt design workflow architecture and ongoing optimization.
  
  

Maintain & Optimize

• Maintain and optimize existing automation systems to ensure they are functioning reliably and meeting evolving business needs.
• Manage and maintain integrations between seoplus core platforms including Google Workspace Slack Wrike Salesforce QuickBooks BambooHR Notion and Zapier.
• Develop documentation for all automated processes and provide training to relevant team members.
  
  

Policy Governance & Security

• Develop and maintain company-wide AI usage policies including guidelines for data handling confidentiality appropriate use and governance ensuring that AI adoption at seoplus is both effective and responsible.
• Handle sensitive data with the highest standards of confidentiality and security including client data employee data and financial data accessed through integrated platforms.
• Stay current with developments in AI and automation to bring informed practical recommendations to the business.
  
  

Cross-Department Leadership & Adoption

• Work closely with department leads to identify automation opportunities set clear milestones and deliver against them.
• Drive adoption of AI and automation tools across the organization including ongoing optimization and support.
• Be accountable to individual and company objectives and key results (OKRs).
  

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year you will have:

• Reduced manual effort across at least three departments through deployed actively-used automations.
• Established a company-wide AI governance policy that the whole team trusts and follows.
• Built a library of documented repeatable workflows that others can learn from and build on.
• Created a clear framework for evaluating and onboarding new AI/automation tools.
• Earned a reputation as the person people come to with is there a better way to do this and who actually builds the answer.
  

Skills Required:

• Proven experience in automation system integrations and programming (Python JavaScript).
• Demonstrated ability to ship projects on time: milestone planning stakeholder communication and follow-through are essential.
• Strong understanding of APIs and web services.
• Comfort with self-direction this is a new role with no existing playbook; resourcefulness and the ability to work independently are critical
• Experience with agentic/workflow AI tools (e.g. N8N Make Zapier) and working knowledge of LLM platforms and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with data privacy principles and responsible AI practices; experience developing or contributing to internal AI governance policies is an asset.
• Experience deploying automation solutions specific to marketing use cases
• Experience with key seoplus platforms (Salesforce Wrike Slack etc.) is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
