Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Johnstown PA
MartinBaker Americas Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing improving and supporting manufacturing methods that maximize productivity efficiency and the effective use of company resources. This role supports existing production operations leads the introduction of new work and new processes and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
In this role you support daytoday manufacturing operations to help sustain ontime delivery and overall production performance. You bring new work and new processes online efficiently and develop manufacturing plans workflow layouts labor estimates build plans and tooling requirements. Your work includes evaluating new products for inhouse manufacturing feasibility and coordinating manufacturing activities from planning through implementation.
You design develop implement and document new manufacturing processes while also evaluating and improving existing methods. You identify opportunities for improvement measure process capability and workforce effectiveness evaluate capital project needs and develop strategies for the efficient use of materials equipment and personnel. You also conduct measurements tests and evaluations to ensure products meet required quality standards.
In support of employee development you participate in professional organizations and attend skillsenhancement seminars as appropriate.
Secondary activities include coordinating newproduct workflows planning shopfloor layouts and supporting tooling and fixture design requirements.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
Three years of experience in a similar position (preferred).

Preferred technical skills include:
Working knowledge of statics mechanics of materials thermodynamics/heat transfer/HVAC GD&T pneumatics electronics (including PLCs) tooling and fixture design jig design and shopfloor layout development (including valuestream mapping).
Knowledge of common manufacturing processes.
Proficiency with AutoCAD SolidWorks SAP and general computer applications.
Ability to direct or coordinate teams apply sound management practices and exercise independent judgment in a fastmoving environment.
