What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Water Industry Team Leader to supervise and deliver highrisk water and wastewater construction activities. This role provides onsite leadership technical guidance and safety oversight to ensure construction works are completed safely efficiently and in accordance with legislative and Council requirements.

You will lead crews coordinate plant and contractors and play a critical role in delivering quality infrastructure outcomes for the Fraser Coast community.

What your day will look like:

  • Lead and oversee water and wastewater construction works
  • Act as site manager for highrisk construction activities
  • Allocate tasks and provide onsite leadership and coaching
  • Maintain WHS compliance and safe systems of work
  • Coordinate plant equipment materials and contractors
  • Record works timesheets and job data in Council systems

What youll need for success:

  • General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Current Class C or CA driver licence (QLD)
  • Current MR licence (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
  • Demonstrated onsite leadership and team supervision experience
  • Proven wastewater construction delivery experience
  • Strong WHS knowledge including highrisk construction work
  • Ability to apply risk controls SWMS and incident reporting
  • Experience coordinating plant equipment and contractors
  • Competency using mobile devices and works management systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Whats nice to have:

  • Cert III (or higher) in Water Industry Operations
  • Licensed Plumber/Drainer or relevant trade qualification
  • Plant operation competencies (e.g. excavator backhoe bobcat)
  • First Aid and Confined Spaces certification
