Assistant Underwriter Construction

We are keen to grow and diversify perspectives within our Construction team and this role would be ideal for someone looking to move into or grow their experience in the Construction market. Full

support will be provided to ensure a successful transition into the role. As you build experience you will become increasingly involved in underwriting activities supporting the assessment of risks and facilities and contributing to the development of a growing portfolio.

The Construction team forms part of the Marine & Energy business and writes construction risks on a global basis. The team supports a wide range of insurers from local contractors to multinationalorganisations delivering tailored solutions to meet client needs. Whatyoullbe doing:

• Receive new business and renewal submissions from brokers and underwriters and process them through Markels 1WF framework

• Support underwriters in the renewal of policies including claims analysis pre-bind CATreportingand pricing analysis

• Develop a strong understanding of the Construction insurance product

• Run Power BI reports and provide underwriting data and insights asrequired

• Build strong relationships across Marine & Energy and wider teams including USTXceedance Compliance CATIPAand Claims

• Champion continuous improvement across end-to-end processes and data quality

• Attend broker and client meetings asrequired

• Apply effective risk management practices including aggregation monitoring and guideline controls
