Job Summary
Position Summary
WUNC News is the public radio station licensed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a digital intern for our Youth Reporting Institute. This is a paid position with flexible hours up to 16 per week with a pay rate of $18/hour. The position will be in-person with some possibilities for hybrid/remote work. A computer will be provided. The position is expected to start in mid-August and continue through the end of the year. The intern will participate in skills workshops with other WUNC Youth Reporting Interns. Interns are expected to participate in a showcase event in early December most likely on December 3 or December 10 2026. These positions are open to currently enrolled college students and recent graduates. Due South Production Internship: This intern will work within WUNCs Programming department with the team behind Due South a daily talk show thats a source for news information and perspectives from across North Carolina and the South. This is an opportunity to learn audio editing broadcast production how to pitch stories write scripts and craft conversations around important topics and interesting guests. Interns will get hands-on experience producing pre-recorded segments live broadcasts and assisting with other elements of a daily show including content for digital and social media. Work Schedule
The intern is asked to dedicate one or two days a week during regular business hours preferred (Monday Friday 9:00 AM 6:00 PM).
