GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The AMH Respite Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and providing care to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Throughout their shifts the Supervisor will apply appropriate crisis intervention techniques. They will also complete timely documentation in the electronic health record. Additionally the Respite Supervisor will be on-call to manage after-hours issues at the Respite Facility. The Supervisor will schedule and supervise Respite Care Providers monitor their documentation and ensure the facility is clean and carrying out these duties the Respite Supervisor will exercise independent judgment within the bounds of established policies practices and procedures.

The Respite Supervisor assists in providing care coordination individual skills training and/or psychosocial interventions in addition to the completing intake protocols screening tools and discharge planning in an environment that is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for short-term stabilization of behavioral health symptoms.

The Respite Supervisor will foster an environment of safety trust transparency and collaboration with consumers and Respite Care providers. They will also implement the principles of trauma-informed care.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or advanced Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology social work medicine nursing rehabilitation counseling sociology human growth and development physician assistant gerontology special education educational psychology early childhood education or early childhood intervention.
  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • One year of experience in a similar or related position either public or private sector

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in mental health services and knowledge about community resources (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a rapid pace environment in an organized and professional manner.
  • Ability to self-monitor production and quality with minimal assistance.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic data systems including electronic health records and business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to develop productive relationships with individuals and family members that focus on individual specific outcomes.
  • Ability to recognize barriers and coordination issues between service systems and to advocate effectively for individuals served.
  • Organization and typing skills are a must.
  • The ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both internal and external referrals.
  • Experience with tracking data and timely data reporting is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Texas drivers license
  • Must be insurable under the Centers insurance policy
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • Must be able to pass a background check

SHIFT

Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to5:00p.m.;rotating on-call for overnight emergencies.
