Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking to fill our Robotics Integration Engineer positions based in Santa Clara CA. This role is fully onsite.

Purpose:

The Robotics Integration Engineer will support development sustaining and management of the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic System.

Your will be responsible for:

  • Planning and execution of systems technical ownership activities including bring up maintenance and configuration management.
  • Collaborate with mechanical electrical robotics controls and software engineers in root-cause analysis and documentation of design manufacturing and algorithmic flaws in order to increase subsystem reliability.
  • Operate the system during clinical labs fix and resolve known issues document novel issues that arise during system use perform SW installation and smoke testing and provide complex engineering test support for R&D applications.
  • Influence OTTAVAs capabilities and shape the future of surgical robotics!

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering field including Mechanical Electrical Computer Software Biomedical Mechatronics Systems or Robotics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S. must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g. H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT OPT or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
  • Proven understanding of programming concepts and ability to modify existing code (C python etc.).
  • Fundamental understanding across software controls robotics mechanical and electrical engineering with ability to quickly come up to speed in new technical areas.
  • Must understand electrical schematics mechanical drawings and other related user documentation.
  • Experience partitioning and decomposing sophisticated engineering problems into solvable problems.
  • Excellent collaboration communication and interpersonal strengths in leading projects.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with software-controlled mechanical systems preferred.
  • Previous projects developing robotic systems preferred.
  • Experience with development in a Linux environment preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industry preferred.

Travel:

  • Up to 10% travel in the U.S.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$87000.00 - $140300.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans employees are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Companys long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado 48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington 56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay including Floating Holidays 13 days per calendar year

Work Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
