The Opportunity
WEM Water has a rewarding opportunity for aPipe Layer / Team Leader to join the team.
We have a strong portfolio of work with multiple projects underway across Sydneys Northwest and Southwest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have oversight and responsibility of the team on site and give daily direction of tasks
- Have a thorough understanding of plans and specifications to determine the layout alignment and depth of watermain stormwater and sewerage systems
- Set out and install below-ground concrete PVC GRP and ductile pipelines
- Carry out site drainage and de-watering procedures including stormwater sub-soil and pumped systems
- Test drainage systems and locate and clear blockages in underground services
- Install excavation supports and maintain compliance with safety requirements
- Dig trenches to required depths using hand tools or machinery
What Were Looking For:
- 3 years experience in a similar role or working under Sydney Water requirements
- A current Flow Isolation Flow Management (FIFM) certificate will be highly regarded (for the right candidate WEM Water would fund this training)
- The ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team
- Strong commitment and understanding of health safety environment and quality standards and practices
- A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative
- A construction white card
- Valid Drivers Licence with flexibility to travel between job sites
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
