With deep technical expertise and strong on-the-ground execution Jhpiego helps design test and scale practical solutions and innovations that fit real-world systems across 11 thematic domains (Maternal and Newborn Health Reproductive Health Nutrition Immunization Comprehensive Primary Health Care Human Resources for Health TB and Infectious Diseases Global Health Security Womens Cancers Non-Communicable Diseases Digital Health).

Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Advisor - Nutrition who will be responsible for providing technical support at National and State level. The position will provide techno-managerial support to increase the capacity of the States/UTs to meet the AMB targets and other nutritional indicators to transform the lives of millions of people by improving the overall status of nutrition in the country.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance support for various nutrition projects and maintain seamless coordination with vertical team
Represent as technical resource for nutrition for various stakeholder meetings technical consultations review meetings etc.
Regular interface and coordination with MoHFW Development Partners and other relevant stakeholders
Lead development and periodic update of the overall project strategy for improving nutrition outcomes and achieving Anemia Mukt Bharat targets
Nodal person for all planning monitoring research and training related to various projects and nutrition programs
Representation on relevant steering and advisory groups and contribute to priority setting and policy development as appropriate.
Develop concept notes and budgets and background materials for developing proposals in coordination with program division & State Program Representatives.
Develop roadmap for Anemia preconception nutrition & care maternal nutrition early life nutrition & other nutrition priorities
Provide technical support and co-create action plan for rapid assessment for nutrition programs
Regular review and monitoring of the program progress and tracking budget utilization for assigned states/projects.
Prepare the action plan for scaling up of various nutrition innovations and facilitation for implementation
Preparation of operational guidelines white papers policy notes for the programs
Publications/manuscripts on project innovations and specific nutrition thematic papers
Undertake any other assignments which may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

Qualifications & Core Competencies:


Masters degree/ PhD in Nutrition as an essential qualification along with MPH/MHA asdesirable
Minimum of 10 years of work experience at national/state level with NGOs and/or UN agencies working with public health and nutrition-related programs
Experience working with government agencies donors and preferably in the development sector
Knowledge of MoHFW and WCD implemented nutrition programs and systems
Engage with multidisciplinary team and provide technical program solving insights
Excellent communication skills
Excellent liaising skills with stakeholders and program management
Willingness to travel to states to provide technical assistance & ability to work on different assignments simultaneously to meet the timelines for assignments.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
