A vacancy has arisen for a Corporal (People Ops People Specialist) to serve as JNCO Human Resources (HR) at 614 (County of Glamorgan) Squadron (Sqn) RAuxAF in Cardiff on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 04 August 2026.
614 Sqn is a General Support Sqn (GSS) that provides dedicated support to RAF Brize Norton and assists the Air Mobility Force prepare for and deliver global operations at the RAFs largest main operating base. 614 Sqn is Wales only RAF Reserve sqn and recruits from across South Wales and the West of England.
The successful candidate must be trained experienced and able to fit into an established team quickly. Everything that they will do will be focused on providing and improving the operational output of the Sqns PTVR aviators.
This is an excellent opportunity for a People Ops Specialist to work in an environment where they engage with their customer base in a traditional F2F fashion rather than at distance. The successful applicant will be responsible to SNCO HR for:
- The efficient operation of the HR Office.
- The opportunity to provide face-to-face administrative support to PTVRs.
- The completion of all HR functions in relation to the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of administered reservists in accordance with current regulations and JPA Business Process Guides (BPGs).
- Administer monthly pay and uploading onto JPA in a timely manner to meet DBS publicised dates and to ensure that all pay submissions are fully justified to stand up to the rigours of future audits.
- The processing of applications for further service early release transfers retirements and discharges from the Service.
- Advise upon regulations and apply necessary JPA actions relating to all forms of allocations of pay allowances charges and other deductions including M&T actions.
- The administration of SJARs OJARs and Insert Slips including initiation hastening and the maintenance of the appraisal register.
- Maintain all HR registers and assist with monthly checks to ensure accuracy of data being recorded.
- Opportunity to work flexibly subject to office working requirements and in agreement with Chain of Command. The current expectation is 2 days in the office (Tues & Thurs) and 3 WFH.
Regular attendance at Ty Llewellyn Reserves Centre in central Cardiff and at Sqn duty weekends is expected although remote working is encouraged outside of formal working days and training events. There will be routine UK travel including an opportunity to participate in overseas expeditions and staff rides.
