Reporting totheManager HR Operationsthe HR Generalist is primarily responsible for supporting theOperationalHR team with day-to-dayHRtasksand plays a role in working withthe Director HR OperationsHuman Resources Business Partners(HRBPs) corporate andfacility leaders to help move HR initiatives forward.
Role responsibilities:
- Acting as first point of contact for all internal Human Resources inquiriesfor the HR Operations team
- ProvidingHR support to theKelownaCorporate Office andoperationalfacilities.
- Completingand coordinatingthe administration tracking and auditing of documentation and information involved in the full employee life cycle: recruitment onboarding performance check-ins corrective action plans disciplinary actions and terminations including exit surveys.
- Drafting and reviewing a variety of employment letters.
- Building and editing HR materials which may include templates tools and training resourcestoimprove overall efficiency effectiveness and user experience.
- Monitor employment legislative initiatives anticipate the effects of impending legislation on the organization and develop action plans and necessary policy updates to ensure timely compliance
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition to support the internal and external recruitment processes including job development interviewing and coaching managers on candidate selection based on predefined criteria
- Facilitate and support leaves of absences process for employees
- Participating in peer review of work from other HR team members as requested to confirm accuracy reduce risk broadenperspectiveand encourage shared learning.
- Providing oral and written employment verifications for current and former employees while ensuring that proper consent and disclosure practices are followed.
- Reviewing and working with documentation from confidential personnel recordstoprovide information to the HR team.
- Pulling employee personnel files as needed and supporting HR audits.
- Completing HR/Payroll documentation updates on the company-wide intranet as needed.
- Performing daily management of the general HR email inboxandaddressing them independently where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary educationin Human Resources Business Administration or relevant experience.
- Candidates who have obtained or are working towards their CPHR preferred.
- 1-2yearsof HR experienceispreferred.
- Experience supporting a mid-sized company operating in multiple Canadian provinces is an asset.
- Ability to work in afast-pacedenvironmentwith a strong sense ofurgency.
- Experience working in HR foramanufacturingcompany or a highly regulated industryis an asset.
- Goodunderstanding of employment legislation.
- Highly accountable and able tosupportproject plans to move them forward.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteincludingExcel.
- Strongunderstanding of HRIS training and payroll systemsis anasset.
