About The Role

As Environmental Liaison Officer you will build andmaintaina strong collaborative relationship with the environmental regulator the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). This relationship supports Sydney Water in meeting its environmental regulatory responsibilities andcomplying withall legislative requirementsunder theProtection of the Environment Operations Act 1997.

The role acts as thefirstpoint of contactbetween Sydney Water andthe EPAfor pollution incidentsinvestigatingandinterpreting complex issues andtechnical informationand translating them into clearconcise reports and updatesthatdischarge ourregulatoryobligations.

Working within asupportiveteamthe role will involve:

  • Providinghigh quality updates and written reports (R2) for material harm incidents to our regulatorsin a timely manner.
  • Respondingto enquiries from the EPA and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consideringthe perspective of our regulators and support and advocate for improvements to Sydney Water processes.
  • Frequently usingyour problem solving time management strong interpersonal and communication skills.

About You:

In addition to a degree (or equivalentexperience)in an EngineeringScienceor a related disciplinewe are looking for a team member who cares about public health and the environment as much as we do!You willhaveoutstanding communication skills andhighly developedorganisationalabilities.
