TheMaxwell Underground Mine owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum. With approvals in place out to 2046 the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

Malabar Resources is an independent Australian-based resources company located in the Upper Hunter Valley in New South Wales.

In addition to the Maxwell Underground Mine we own the Maxwell Solar Farm based on rehabilitated land on the Maxwell Infrastructure site Maxwell Infrastructure the Spur Hill Underground Project and agricultural properties including the Merton Vineyard.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support the growth of our operations we are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experiencedSupply Superintendent to lead our Supply Team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Supply Superintendent leads the Supply department at Maxwell Underground Mine with end-to-end accountability for purchasing inventory management warehouse and yard operations transport and logistics and materials cataloguing.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior supply chain procurement or materials management role ideally within the mining or resources industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary supply team in an operational environment.
  • Sound understanding of procurement principles and supplier relationship management.
  • Competence in ERP-based inventory management systems (experience with PULSE or similar mining ERP advantageous).
  • Experience managing warehouse operations and associated safe work practices.
  • Working knowledge of freight and logistics management including dangerous goods requirements.
  • Ability to develop and enforce cataloguing and data quality standards in an ERP environment.
  • Strong analytical capability able to interpret data identify trends and drive performance improvements.
  • Formal qualifications in Supply Chain Management and experience in an Underground Mining Environment would be advantageous.
