Job Summary
- Create issue and maintain purchase orders for materials and services based on MRP demand
- Follow up with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgments delivery dates and shipment status
- Expedite orders as needed to support production schedules and minimize shortages
- Collaborate with Planning Logistics Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to ensure material availability and resolve supply issues
- Monitor open purchase orders and update delivery dates in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Resolve delivery quality and invoice discrepancies with suppliers
- Maintain accurate purchasing data and documentation within company systems
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance related to delivery and responsiveness
- Support inventory objectives by helping manage lead times and order quantities
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and standard operating procedures
- Contribute to team goals for On-Time Delivery Quality and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management Business Logistics or related field
- 25 years of experience in a Buyer Purchasing or Supply Chain role (Aerospace or manufacturing preferred)
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain concepts
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and follow-up skills with internal teams and suppliers
- Ability to solve problems and escalate complex issues when needed
- APICS certification or coursework is a plus but not required
