Location: Based at Glendale Campus with one day per week based at Belmont Campus
Temporary Part Time until May 2027 (28 hours per week)
$111798 - $132585 salary package - includes base salary ($98499 - $116813) plus employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (paid pro rata)

About the role
As a Counsellor at TAFE NSW youll make a positive difference by providing essential counselling support to prospective and enrolled students. Youll help students navigate academic vocational and personal challenges empowering them to achieve their goals.
Collaborating with teachers coordinators and managers youll share your expertise and offer advice insights and consultancy to support student wellbeing and success while practising with professionalism and integrity in line with your professional standards and TAFE NSW policies. You will maintain accurate and confidential records while staying current with emerging educational social psychological and health issues affecting students.
This position will require you to travel between our Glendale and Belmont campuses.
About you
You are a qualified Counsellor Social Worker or Psychologist who is passionate about supporting students to achieve their educational and career goals. You bring experience in delivering individual counselling and group work across educational vocational career and personal matters and youre confident using assessments to help identify barriers and guide the best course of action.
You work closely with community services to support students with diverse needs and make referrals when needed always keeping students at the centre of your work and delivering inclusive highquality support.
Key Requirements:
- A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
- Appropriate degree from a tertiary institution and at least three years study in psychology or other such study at the Employer deems appropriate plus two years appropriate vocational experience.
- Two years relevant recent counselling experience in personal counselling and educational OR vocational counselling.
- Willingness and ability to travel as per business requirements.
