DUTIES:
Leads and directs staff by planning assigning scheduling and prioritizing work to ensure operational continuity and resolve issues.
Manages all on-the-job (OJT) training processes including but not limited to new hires post rotations promotions and new procedures.
Supervises the FTO program in partnership with respective facility supervision.
Makes recommendations regarding OJT and facilitates training to both new and current team members.
Serves as a liaison with the Staff Training Academy and is a contact for new employees providing leadership and assisting with questions.
Provides training and support to the facilities as needed. Ensures the application of all policies procedures post orders etc. and may participate in the development of these policies.
Evaluates individuals performance and evaluates/develops individualized training modules.
Develops training concepts and techniques specific to job classification; provides technical assistance; coaches and counsels team members.
Acquires and maintains required instructorships in firearms self-defense CPR/First-Aid and chemical agents. Moves and carries equipment and supplies.
Works collaboratively with the professional development team to facilitate all required training within the agency.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High school education plus two years of corrections experience and experience or training in leading or supervising other staff. Must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of training experience to include instructing and/or mentoring. At least three years corrections experience.
Other: A valid drivers license is required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
