Job Description:

DUTIES:

• Leads and directs staff by planning assigning scheduling and prioritizing work to ensure operational continuity and resolve issues.

• Manages all on-the-job (OJT) training processes including but not limited to new hires post rotations promotions and new procedures.

• Supervises the FTO program in partnership with respective facility supervision.

• Makes recommendations regarding OJT and facilitates training to both new and current team members.

• Serves as a liaison with the Staff Training Academy and is a contact for new employees providing leadership and assisting with questions.

• Provides training and support to the facilities as needed. Ensures the application of all policies procedures post orders etc. and may participate in the development of these policies.

• Evaluates individuals performance and evaluates/develops individualized training modules.

• Develops training concepts and techniques specific to job classification; provides technical assistance; coaches and counsels team members.

• Acquires and maintains required instructorships in firearms self-defense CPR/First-Aid and chemical agents. Moves and carries equipment and supplies.

• Works collaboratively with the professional development team to facilitate all required training within the agency.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school education plus two years of corrections experience and experience or training in leading or supervising other staff. Must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.

Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of training experience to include instructing and/or mentoring. At least three years corrections experience.

Other: A valid drivers license is required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
